The plaque reads: ‘’He shall flourish, and like a mountain cedar reach his branches to all the plains around him. Our children’s children shall see this and bless heaven.’ (King Henry VIII) This silver oak planted April 23, 1964 in honor of the 400th anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare (1564-1616) in deepest gratitude for his eternal legacy. The City of Hollywood The Shakespeare CLub of Hollywood.’
The tree and plaque were commissioned by City of Hollywood, Shakespeare Club of Hollywood.
